Hunting Report Going out with a bang………

Since spring snows doesn’t happen on Dec. 31,I can’t think of a better way to end the year. Spent the day with Brandon and a good friend(A forum member who likes to remain nameless and doesn’t want his picture posted :D) waiting for the birds to fly while relaxing in a frozen cornfield. Birds didn’t come out until about 3ish.First flock did it just right.Hit em with a little laydown "groan" and they drifted right in front for a 15yard shot;5 birds down. While picking up birds, had 2 more groups wanna commit suicide but we were busted and they slid off to the side.Next few groups decided heading in a different direction was better. While the next group started to work, the ducks started showing up from all over.:SM_SS_panic: Dropped 2 geese out of that group. Had a little group of ducks come in but at 356mph and 1 bird trying to take my skull cap off :SM_SS_duck:managed just the one drake mallard.Got a group of geese to change path for a looksee. We hit em with a little comeback as they did a fly by lookin’ things over, they turned and locked. First bird landed 10 foot from one blind and I was just waiting for 1 more to drift across for an easy 10yd. shot. Finished the limit of geese and sat and waited for ducks but for some reason Dec. 31 is fly your plane day is this area and they kept disrupting the birds’ flight paths.Brandon saved all his B-Day and X-Mas money/gift cards and bought himself a new Benelli Nova;it has been initiated and bloodied.:eusa_clap:

Lastly,Andrew told me not to call.:xIDunno: Had a blind all setup for another guy and he decided not to show.:aano: And the worst part of the day…I missed the frickin’ greenwing teal that buzzed us numerous times.:SM_SS_sad3:
