I picked up a copy of a magazine the other day that had some very limited information on beginning fly fishing. But I was really wanting to find some more detailed information from forum members as to what else I need to for gear to make a decent tackle kit. :eusa_think:

Whats a good selection of panfish, trout and bass flys to buy?
Extra leaders and tippet?
Fly vest, chest or waist pack?
Nippers, hemostats, magnifier, etc?
Fly boxes, plastic or aluminum?

Chest waders for fly fishing?

Anyone got a good basic list I can start with or is it mostly personal
preference?

Long time lurker. Figured I best give introductions since I had already racked up 4 posts. I fish/yak out of Fremont, orginally from South Africa but Husker supporting Nebraskan since ‘97. You can usually find me out on the surrounding lakes/rivers in my lil red yak. Love to kayak and fish, and relatively new to kayakfishing.

I’m planning my honeymoon for this summer and could use some assistance in finding a location.

It’s a surprise for her, and I’m thinking somewhere in Colorado or Wyoming or even Montana.

We’re wanting somewhere that has a lot to offer as far as things to do, but not so much that we’re just in a mad rush to try and get to a whole ton of places; we want to be able to enjoy several things to do over the course of the week.

I’m trying to find a place that has nice accomodations, but nothing super expensive. I’d like somewhere that’s extremely close to the mountains, even in the mountains, and offers things like horse trail rides, four-wheeling, hiking, canoeing, white-water rafting (maybe), and other outdoor things like that.

I’d like it close to a sizeable town that has a sweet downtown area, but I’d rather stay away from tourist traps.

Anyway, if anyone knows of a place like this or knows a good travel agent that could hook me up with a place like this I would greatly appreciate it! If anyone has any places to avoid, that would be just as helpful!

Ice fished it Saturday from 2-6 pm. Ice was 7 inches. Nothing but dink bluegill around the trees. Ice was melting quickly at 62 degree air temp.

This can be answered by anyone who has an opinion on all kinds of hooks. I was wondering what hooks do you see as being of the best quality and also which ones do you think are of the lowest quality? Im interested in tying hooks but all apply in relation to the brand or type.

Hey guys I am in need of some new tires for my Silverado and just thought I would check to see what some of you recommended or would not recommend for me to put on my truck. They are P265/70R17 on it now. Never had to buy new tires for it so some input would be great. From the dealer it has Bridgestone duelers on it which have been a great tire for me but am open to suggestions. Looking for the best/cheapers place to purchase them and have them put on as well. Anyone every bought them online and shipped to you? Looking to spend no more than $150 per tire if possible.
